Автор (предположительно) моделей из Call of Duty продает их на 3D-сайтах. Это легально?

Есть подозрение, что "автор" рипнул модели из игры. Я написал по этому поводу в саппорт CG trader и мне там ответили вот что:

The seller earlier confirmed that he is one of the COD designers who worked on 5 COD titles and this is a derivative work. These designer models are already reported in the past due to same reason. The easiest answer why they look so similar is due to the fact that models are created by the same designer. The models are not exactly the same as in the game since this could breach copyright rules but since this designer works with COD he probably has a legitimate reason to sell that kind of model. Attaching a citation from a designer "The model on CGTrader is a complete work... a completely different model up to 8k bakes, thing that only CGTrader have."If in doubt we would suggest contacting model designer for clarification.

По-моему это какой-то развод. Хочу написать в спортлото...то есть Activision для прояснения, но пока даже не очень понятно, как это делать, чтобы вопрос пришел компетентным людям. Советы, предложения?
