I'll give my perspective as an industry professional with almost 15 years experience. Like the other commenter said, Blender can do about 90% of what Maya can do. But while 2.8 was a real game changer and it's getting better and better, it's still clunky in a lot of ways. I mean CLUNKY. Usability is still not where it should be. Animating and rigging in blender is still a bit painful. Modelling is it's strength right now. But yeah, overall from a user perspective it's still not there. The problem is that a lot of the Blender users out there who are really loud about it haven't really used other tools. This is what they started with, because it's free and accessible. And they haven't had to work in a real production environment where all those little annoying usability and UI quirks start to add up over time. That's from a user standpoint.
From a studio standpoint, yeah i'd say that the pipelines built over years are not going to be scrapped just like that. It'll take a really big incentive to do that and really, the money aspect is not that big. But I do agree, Blender is getting better and better quickly and in some aspects it is better that Maya, but it's not quite there yet.

Интересно, а почему Blender не пригодился? В студии принципиально заставляют другим софтом пользоваться?

Старые пайплайны очень тяжёло перестроить когда процесс отлажен 🥺😔
